Horizontal layout combining standard I/O and high-speed functions
Horizontal Structure and EtherCAT Performance
The EP series uses a horizontal structure with DIN-rail and mounting-hole installation plus spring terminals. Published specifications include EtherCAT, 24VDC power, communication up to 100MB/s, a 250μs cycle, and IP20 protection.
The layout fits cabinets requiring horizontal placement, centralized wiring, or several signal types in one area.
- Communication up to 100MB/s with a published 250μs cycle.
- Horizontal structure with two installation options.
- Spring terminals for cabinet wiring.
Current Models and Signal Capabilities
The current EP lineup includes EP3232DN and EP16160202MNS for different I/O requirements.
- EP3232DN: horizontal EtherCAT digital I/O; refer to the official manual for detailed points and electrical data.
- EP16160202MNS: 16 digital inputs, 16 NPN outputs, 2 analog inputs, and 2 analog outputs.
- EP16160202MNS also provides 2 high-speed PWM, 2 high-speed PSO, and 2 high-speed differential encoder channels with 16-bit analog resolution.
Multi-Signal and Motion-Related Connections
EP suits horizontal EtherCAT expansion, multi-signal acquisition and control, and cabinet I/O access. EP16160202MNS can consolidate projects that combine standard digital and analog I/O with PWM, PSO, or encoder signals.
Selection should verify the I/O list, electrical signal types, high-speed function requirements, master configuration, and installation dimensions.
